I-95 Triennial 2013 : From Connecticut to Maine exhibition. UM Museum of Art, Bangor, ME

Triennial Promo 2013

The University of Maine Museum of Art is pleased to announce the second installment of the I-95 Triennial 2013: From Connecticut to Maine exhibition. The exhibition occurs every three years and features a survey of the finest contemporary artists working in five New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. UMMA Director George Kinghorn states, “There are so many exceptional contemporary artists working in these five northeastern states and we are looking forward to receiving an abundance of high-quality submissions. This stretch along Interstate 95 runs through major hubs of artistic production and, as in our inaugural exhibition in 2010, the exhibition will provide a glimpse into the diversity of contemporary creative practice in the region.”

The University of Maine Museum of Art, located in the heart of downtown Bangor, is a part of University of Maine which is the stateʼs premier public university. UMMA focuses on exhibiting contemporary art in all media and has a permanent collection of over 3,800 objects with strengths in contemporary photography, works on paper and original prints. The Museum of Art will devote all four of its changing exhibition galleries to the I-95 Triennial 2013. *

Exhibition Dates: April 5 – June 8, 2013. Opening reception; April 4, 5:00-8:00 p.m.
